BMW’s M-Series is a line of high-performance sports cars that have been around since 1968. The original M1 was created by former Formula One driver Jochen Neerpasch, and it featured a turbocharged 3.5L straight-six engine with 240 horsepower. Recent M5 uses a 4395cc V8 engine with 523 horsepower and can go from zero to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds!
The M Series has grown over time to include many different models: coupes, sedans and even SUVs (the X5M). There are also two subgroups within the BMW family — GTS versions which have slightly less power than regular versions but still provide excellent handling characteristics; Competition Packages which increase horsepower without changing any other components on your car (this makes them ideal if you want more performance without sacrificing comfort).
